  • Overview

    The Executive Assistant shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 


    This position will perform a variety of highly responsible, confidential and complex administrative duties. This position requires analysis, research, initiative, independent judgment, and exceptional professional discretion with access and administration of confidential information.  The Executive Assistant will possess the ability to take initiative and anticipate the International Vice President’s (VP) needs on a daily requirement basis.  This position will require the ability to work independently without much supervision.


    Administrative Support

    • Correspond, build relationships with leaders, staff & donors for the VP.
    • Schedule appointments and international travel for the VP.
    • Learn new technologies & skills that will be needed for the VP’s ministry.
    • Coordinate conference calls and events with those served by the VP.
    • Manage VP’s Navigator budget, expense reporting & website content.
    • Maintain mailing lists for correspondence with support teams and staff.


    Additional Responsibilities

    • Prepare and edit documents created in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Mac Office equivalent programs
    • Transport out of town international guests to / from the airport for leader gatherings.
    • Organize files for ministry materials.
    • Track donations and prepare thank you notes.
    • Travel overseas to assist in international events.  (Optional, every 2-3 years)
    • Participate in the annual Plan and Progress Review process with direct supervisor, VP.
    • Submit personal expense reports by the 15th of each month
    • Submit worked hours in the Time Tracking system weekly for supervisor approval.


    • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
    • Minimum of 2 year’s work in an executive administrative position
    • Excellent relational skills
    • Strong aptitude and experience learning new technologies
    • Demonstrated mastery of Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point (Experience with Mac also helpful)
    • Strong spelling, grammar and accurate attention to detail
    • Thrives in a fast-paced high-performance environment
    • Commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality with very sensitive information
