    The Personnel Services Specialist shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 

     

    This position approves and processes all personnel changes for the U.S. Navigators in an efficient and accurate manner.  This position works with Mission Administrators, staff and employees providing exceptional customer service for any personnel processing needs and handles basic HR systems troubleshooting with end users.

    Responsibilities

    Personnel Administration (60%)

    • Approve and process all staff personnel data changes in Workday in a timely manner and in accordance with ministry and system protocols.
    • Maintain all personnel data and files in Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) in accordance with federal regulations and Human Resources (HR) Policy.
    • Maintain data accuracy in Workday HCM by attentively checking details and running quality control reports when necessary.
    • Create new Staff Cost Centers upon Field staff hires and as requested from Mission Offices.
    • Maintain staff Cost Center charges as requested from Mission Offices.
    • Work closely with the Personnel Systems Analyst to troubleshoot procedures for all Workday HCM systems issues.
    • Participate with the Personnel Systems Analyst as requested in bi-annual Workday Update Testing.

     

    Customer Service (20%)

    • Provide and promote positive customer service among Headquarters departments, The Glen Eyrie Group, Mission offices and Field staff.
    • Serve as primary contact for all staff for Human Resources related questions.
    • Direct staff to the appropriate department, when necessary, for cross departmental needs.
    • Be available for consultation and training staff on personnel processing best practices, policies and procedures.

     

     

    Additional Responsibilities (20%)

    • Serve as primary contact for Verifications of Employment from lenders and employers.
    • Manage and administer The Navigators Minister’s Housing Allowance process.
    • Assist with monthly HR & Mission Administrator meetings as needed.
    • Complete Social Security verification and Colorado New Hire Reporting for new hires twice a month.
    • Manage the HR group Outlook account
    • Ensure compliance with government required employer postings date at all three locations (Headquarters, International Office and Glen Eyrie).
    • Order department supplies.
    • Serve on the Building Occupancy Committee (quarterly meetings).
    • Develop personal skills and capabilities through on-going training.
    • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators, including knowledge of Navigator missions, ministries, and networks.
    • Associate’s degree preferred
    • Three or more years of experience in customer service field
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong oral (public and individual) and written communication skills
    • Basic understanding of computerized Human Resources systems
    • Three or more years of administrative experience
    • Excellent people skills demonstrated by the ability to collaborate and communicate within a team and cross functionally with other teams.
    • Independent problem solving skills required.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple task including continuous customer service interruptions.
    • Experience working with culturally diverse workforce preferred.
    • Experience with the handling of confidential information.
    • Prior understanding of The Navigator ministry preferred.
