    The Field Recruiting and Retention Partner shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 


    This position is responsible for managing field staff recruitment across all missions. This will be achieved through building strong missional relationships, developing and implementing recruiting processes and managing the internal candidate pipeline. The Field Recruiting and Retention Partner plays a key role in engaging called, qualified and committed field staff within the Navigators while supporting retention efforts with current field staff.


    Field Recruiting and Retention (60%):

    • Develop, implement and manage field recruitment and retention processes and procedures for Navigators field staff.
    • Steward and oversee the attainment of organizational field recruitment and retention goals.
    • Research, develop and implement strategies and networking practices in cooperation with the field ministries to build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified candidates.
    • Manage the marketing of Navigator field staff opportunities including recruitment campaign planning, internal and external recruiting events, and job board optimization.
    • Partner with field managers to proactively identify staffing needs, methods to meet those needs, and oversee and assist them during the lifecycle of the recruiting process.
    • Provide and instruct field managers with tools and resources for recruiting such as, how to conduct interviews, best practices in making job offers, standardized Navigator recruiting materials and the administrative tasks needed to complete the hire and transfer processes.
    • Coordinate with the field ministries to determine who should be the primary contact for field staff candidates and communicate regularly with them (or see that such communication occurs) regarding their interest levels and the status of available positions.
    • Collaborate with Personnel Services Manager in creating field job descriptions and assigning pay grades for each field position.
    • Regularly communicate with current field staff to establish rapport, gauge morale and source new candidate leads.
    • Manage the communication process for key positions filled including articles in NavWeekly.
    • Ensure necessary hiring and onboarding tasks are complete in Workday prior to the position’s start date.



    Systems and Reports (25%):                                                                                                                                  

    • Work with Personnel Systems Administrator to ensure the organizational recruiting system is robust enough to achieve both field recruiting and retention needs.
    • Ensure field managers and administrators are trained as needed in the current recruiting system.
    • Manage and create internal and external job postings within the recruiting system.
    • Work with Field and Mission leadership to develop key performance metrics that show the progress or lack thereof in attaining field recruiting goals.
    • Work with Personnel Systems Administrator to develop reports that accurately represent data for each stage of the recruiting lifecycle.
    • Run reports as needed to share recruiting and retention and attrition trends, issues and metrics and make recommendations for improvements in strategies as needed.


    Additional Functions (15%):                                                                                                                                   

    • Serve as back-up to Headquarters and Glen Eyrie recruiting when appropriate.
    • Understand current legislation regarding hiring practices; enforcing regulations with field managers and missional recruiting teams. Ensure that appropriate training is provided to field personnel involved in the recruiting process.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Participate in the Navigators annual Plan and Progress Review process with direct supervisor.


    • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
    • Minimum Associate Degree preferred or relevant work experience
    • Five years of experience in full life cycle recruiting required
    • Experience working with an applicant tracking system (preferably iCIMS Recruiting)
    • Workday software and web communications experience helpful 
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requisitions, hiring managers and candidates
    • High emotional and cultural intelligence
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Ability to build loyalty and relationships with managers
    • Strong interviewing and negotiation skills
    • Prior understanding of The Navigator ministry preferred
