    The HR Training Coordinator shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 

     

    This position actively searches, creatively designs, then facilitates and implements effective training methods that align with Human Resources best practices and Navigator strategic initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    HR Strategic Partnership (20%)

    • Serve as Human Resources’ uplink with Headquarters, Glen Eyrie and Field Missions.
      • Develop and lead regular meetings with representatives from Headquarters, Glen Eyrie and Field Missions focusing on cross-missional and cross-departmental interactions.
      • Point of contact regarding employment related issues and questions; clarification

    and enforcement of organizational policies. 

     

    HR Training (50%)

    • Conduct annual HR training and development needs assessment.
    • Coordinate the content, branding and delivery of all Human Resources best practices training, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, conflict resolution, performance management, and related policies to ensure that each supervisor is trained on the full employment cycle every two years.
    • Partner with HQ departments in coordinating and delivering best practices training.
    • Collaboratively develop training initiatives for supervisor and managers at Headquarters, Glen Eyrie and in the Field.
    • Obtain and/or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
    • Plan, organize, facilitate and order supplies for employee development and training events.
    • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
    • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of The Navigators.

     

    Communication (20%)

    • Research and coordinate improved ways of communicating Human Resources objectives and opportunities to The Navigator’s mission and when applicable, to the general public.
    • Work collaboratively with the Communications department to develop communication strategy and promotion for important Human Resources and Benefits information to employees.
    • Communicate changes in employment law to affected ministries and departments
    • Create and manage the communication within the HR NavTeams page and the HR Billboard.
    • Communicate when HR policies need to be updated and ensure policies are compliant with employment law.

     

    Additional Responsibilities (10%)

    • Assist with employment relations; mediate conflict, discipline and terminations and investigation resolution.
    • Main contact for unemployment insurance claims
    • Assist Human Resources in other departmental tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
    • Bachelor Degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience required
    • 4-6 years of Human Resources and/or Personnel Services experience
    • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (American Society for Training and Development) preferred.
    • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, dynamics of employee development and professional growth, and training program design and presentation.
    • Ability to plan, organize and present training activities to diverse employee groups, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Current in employment law trends and changes
    • Experience with Human Resources technology and systems is preferred
    • Strong writing and communication skills required
    • Demonstrated project management capability
    • Strong interpersonal and proven people development skills
    • Proven presentation and communications skills
    • Proven customer service skills that provide the ability to collaborate and communicate within a team and cross functionally with other teams
    • Strong analytical skills and extreme attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize tasks
