The Lifelong Laborers Financial Administrator shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 

 

This position provides clear and accurate financial administration and financial reporting for leadership and staff within the five Missions of Lifelong Laborers.

Responsibilities

Financial Oversight of Lifelong Laborer Missions (LL)

  • Ensure wise stewardship of funds with clear financial procedures
  • Ensure compliance to Navigator financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure accurate financial reports
  • Oversee Lifelong Laborer assets and accounts
    • National accounts and initiatives
    • Regional and conference accounts
    • Investment accounts

Financial Operations

  • Manage LL Financial Accounts
    • Proficient with Workday Financial software systems
    • Monitor proper flow of funds through these accounts
    • Maintain Financial accounts in the Workday system
      • Cost Center Hierarchy kept current for each LL Mission
    • Monthly reports on Administrative Accounts
      • To LL Mission Directors and their administrators
      • To LL Operations Director
    • Clear communication on LL finances as needed through reporting, financial policies and procedures to:
      • LL Mission Directors and their administrators
      • LL Operations Director
      • LL Mission Staff as needed
  • Manage Development Assistance Funds for LL Missions (DAF)
    • Clear financial plans from annual LL Mission planning
    • Provide quarterly reimbursement process for LL Missions
  • Financial Assistance
    • Understand budgets for Leadership & Field staff
      • Provide assistance in creating annual administrative budgets
    • Supplier Invoice fulfillment
      • Clear communication by email for clarity on Invoice request
      • Gather needed documents (Invoice; W9; other) and submit the invoice fulfillment request
    • Journals/General Ledger
      • Transfer entries with documentation
    • Expense Reports
      • Approve expense reports as a delegate for LL Mission Leadership as requested
      • Assist staff as needed in details of their monthly expense reports
    • Ethnic Staff Funding (Kairos)
    • Communicate annual Kairos process to appropriate staff & leadership
    • Work with LL Missions and The Strategic Initiatives Office on this process
    • Monthly transfers to each staff or project receiving Kairos Funds
    • Create and maintain reports to monitor cash flow
    • Usage reports created and presented
    • Available to answer financial questions from LL Mission leadership or staff by phone and email
    • Other financial requests or tasks as needed

 

Financial Procedures

  • Maintain current Financial Policies and Procedures
  • Financial files maintained - hardcopy and digital as needed

 

Office

  • Clear Communication with the office team, staff and public
  • Works closely with other departments within the USHQ
  • Other duties as needed within the Lifelong Laborers Admin Office
  • Participate in appropriate financial meetings for collaboration within the USHQ

 

Professional Development

  • Continue to develop expertise and skill in financial management
  • Keep current on all Navigator and IRS financial policies, regulations, and procedures for efficient and proper financial operations
  • Leadership, Ministry and Spiritual development is encouraged as opportunities are available

Qualifications

  • Belief and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance or the equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel and Word
  • Ability to work within Workday Financials and Workday HR
  • Detail oriented and able to manage projects to completion with wise and efficient use of time
  • Good relational and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Honesty and integrity in the handling of all finances.
