Overview

The Volunteer Coordinator shall serve the Glen Eyrie Group (GEG) and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

 

This position provides coordinating and administrative support to the Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake volunteers.

Responsibilities

Administrative (70%)

  • Process volunteer applications and coordinate volunteer interviews, including scheduling, orientations, and reference checks.
  • Maintain the volunteer database and create, manage, and organize office files.       Compose and send communications to the volunteers.
  • Receives, handles and transfers phone calls, emails and messages within the department promptly and courteously.
  • Processes and responds to requests for information in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assists in departmental marketing by updating the department website and promotional materials
  • Coordinates Castle tours (public, educational, and private) with all the parties involved

 

Volunteers (30%)

  • Coordinate requests for volunteers from Glen Eyrie Departments, and assist in assigning volunteers to meet the needs.
  • Stock and maintain snacks and drinks for volunteer lounge.
  • Prepares letters, mailings, and reports in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Creates a positive and welcoming environment for all volunteers, guests, and staff who enter or call

 

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Volunteer Ministries.

Qualifications

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • A committed Christian who supports the mission of the Glen Eyrie Group.
  • At least three years’ experience in an administrative or coordinating role is preferable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, phone, and written communication skills are requisite.
  • Dedication to excellence in all areas of work is expected.
  • Needs to enjoy variety in tasks and seasons of work.
  • Should be able to lead and take projects to completion.
