Overview


The Executive Assistant shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

This position provides administrative and clerical support for the Executive Director of the Glen Eyrie Group and the Director of Eagle Lake Camps.

The Executive Assistant works with all departments of the Glen Eyrie Group, most specifically with GEG Development, GEG Communications, and EL Admin. This job requires the ability to interface well with all departments of the Glen Eyrie Group and to represent the Executive Director and Director of Eagle Lake Camps in a highly professional manner.

In addition to daily administrative support, this position also assists with external communications regarding development appeals, newsletters, marketing and other miscellaneous external communication as well as internal communications from the Office of the Executive Director and the Director of Eagle Lake Camps.

Responsibilities

  • Type correspondence and communications for the Executive Director, Director of Eagle Lake Camps, Glen Eyrie Group Leadership Team, and other Department Directors to include word processing/typing of letters, memos, forms, proposals, policies and procedures (includes handling of confidential information), and other items. 
  • Work independently and within a team on special, non-reoccurring, and on-going projects. Give feedback as requested by the Executive Director and Director of Eagle Lake Camps on special projects, which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and organizing Group-wide events. 
  • Daily administrative tasks such as: organize and prioritize information and calls; sort and distribute mail, open mail and determine level of priority; answer phone calls and take messages or field/answer all routine and non-routine questions; other office duties, etc. 
  • Assist the Eagle Lake Administrative Team with the reception of Eagle Lake phone calls, emails, website chat and other customer service needs. 
  • Assist the Executive Director and Director of Eagle Lake Camps in the management of their schedules, including scheduling meetings, fundraising travel, etc. 
  • Assist Executive Director and Director of Eagle Lake Camps as it relates to reports, communications, and updates, including writing letters to Donors, maintaining Donor files, and list management.
  • Schedule and organize complex events such as meetings, travel, and department activities. 
  • Create and develop visual presentations for the Executive Director and Director of Eagle Lake Camps. 
  • Provide support for Executive Director’s GEG Leadership Team, Director of Eagle Lake Camps’ Leadership Team, and GEG Leader Community meetings. 
  • Handle confidential and non-routine information. 
  • Strive to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in personnel issues. 
  • Perform special projects as assigned by Executive Director, Director of Eagle Lake Camps or the Director of Administration.

Qualifications

  • Belief in and adherance to The Navigators Statement of Faith as well as abiding by all policies outlined in both the Glen Eyrie Group and Navigators

    handbooks.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in related field and at least 21 years of age.
  • At least two years in an secretarial level position, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and control details while working with different departments.
  • Proven experience in establishing priorities while working in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Possess the skills for continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials and meeting deadlines; must have good spelling & grammar skills along with transcription experience.
  • Self-motivated, works well with a team yet at times with little supervision.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Has a sincere and mature walk with Christ.
