The Social Media Coordinator shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 


This position is responsible to promote NavMissions sending opportunities and vision through building a strong and consistent online presence.



  • Work with Marketing Director to develop and execute an integrated digital marketing strategy
  • Implement our social media strategy:
    • Research social media platforms and web functionality.
    • Create and manage social media accounts
    • Increase social media presence on a wide variety of platforms
    • Evaluate social media metrics using tools such as Google Analytics
  • Implement our website strategy:
    • Review existing NavMissions websites and make recommendation to improve effectiveness
    • Evaluate websites and social media metrics using tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Work closely with Director of Communications:
    • Collect and create original articles, narratives relaying ministry stories from staff, book reviews, etc.
    • Compose or repost tweets/posts to communicate events, resources, news and information relevant to social media followers.



  • Promote NavMissions websites; identify and implement strategies that drive users to the sites and encourage regular interaction.
  • Drive NavMissions websites content, finding and creating various media for that use.
  • Integrate our web presence with The Navigators’ greater web presence.
  • Focus on search engine optimization/search engine marketing (SEO/SEM) integration.
  • Migrate content from old to new websites.





  • Advise Marketing Director and team on social media and website trends and how they can be integrated into the overall marketing strategy.
  • Contribute to the development and creation of World Wide Partnership regional recruiting-related films. (In house and outside Navs.)
  • Assist the Nations Sphere in developing a unified approach for communicating nations-focused opportunities across the US Navigators.
  • Develop and manage other social media and web-based projects as needs arise.



  • Pursue intimacy with Jesus in all things for the glory of God
  • Submit annual goals and objectives to supervisor along with anannual report.
  • Work with supervisor to write a personal develop plan.
  • Meet with marketing team for encouragement, brainstorming and creative problem solving
  • Meet weekly with the Marketing Director


  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • Demonstrated social networking experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in web design and maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of web hosting applications.
  • Knowledge of the industry – inform us, not us inform them.
  • Heart for/love of ministry in the nations. Having ministered overseas preferred.
