PART-TIME

The Bookstore Attendant shall serve the Glen Eyrie Group (GEG) and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.  The Bookstore Attendant is responsible for all customer service activities that occur in the Bookstore and Coffee Shop.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Bookstore and Coffee Shop customers aiding them in purchases
  • Conduct point-of-sale transactions
  • Prepare barista-style beverages using a super-automatic espresso machine and similar equipment
  • Accept and facilitate product special orders on behalf of customers
  • Receive, input, price and shelve new inventory
  • Regular upselling of goods and services to customers
  • Participate in product purchasing as needed
  • Maintain a constant awareness and expertise in all Glen Eyrie Programs
  • Manage and track daily opening, closing and administrative tasks
  • Complete daily cleaning and organizing lists
  • Participate in regular team meetings

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a sincere and mature walk with Jesus Christ
  • Willingness to abide by the policies of the Glen Eyrie handbook
  • Has prior retail experience
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, 3 to 4 shifts a week including days, nights and weekends. Regular shifts are between 5 and 10 hours
  • Strong customer care focus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent cash handling skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Ability to multitask in a very busy retail and food service environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised
