Overview

 PART-TIME 

The Banquet Server shall serve the Glen Eyrie Group (GEG) and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

 

The Banquet Server is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining, staying overnight or meeting at the Glen. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Banquet Servers will follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. Banquet Servers will maintain a high degree of professionalism.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review Compass sheet at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted
  • Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive
  • Be in communication with the Banquets Manager regarding any special need
  • Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensure there is proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Conference Center
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquets Manager
  • Keep inventory of all Conference Center equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas
  • Work with Guest Services to transport any and all items needed for an outdoor event not within the Conference Center and tent areas
  • Provide all group guests with a lasting experience of the Glen with intent for return business
  • Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Greet all guests and Executive Leadership warmly with an appropriate greeting
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Understands and can communicate products and services available at Glen Eyrie
  • Provide quick service for last minute changes
  • Staff training and development

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of progressive server experience in a hotel or a related field required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must adhere to the Navigators statement of faith and handbooks from both the Navigators and Glen Eyrie at all times
